Mobile financial services company bKash has organized a two-day annual seminar to further enhance the skills of officials engaged in preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
The seminar, held in Dhaka on Wednesday and Thursday, discussed the challenges of compliance in this regard, the use of new products and services, and the evaluation of this year’s work.
In addition, bKash reiterated its commitment to compliance and adherence to regulations in all its activities for customers and stakeholders in the future.
In a press release, bKash said that as a reporting organization, bKash has appointed compliance teams in different regions of the country as per the directives of the regulatory body.
It said that the company regularly conducts various activities to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing as well as ensure risk-free transactions.
The release said that bKash is playing a ‘role’ in the MFS sector by identifying any suspicious transactions and taking necessary action through a special customized compliance tool ‘AML 360 Financial Crime Investigation Solution’ and Screening Intelligence System (SIS).
bKash’s CEO Kamal Qadir, Chief External and Corporate Affairs Officer and Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer Retired Major General Sheikh Md. Monirul Islam were present at the seminar.
In addition, regional level officials from the company’s AML-CFT department in Dhaka and across the country participated.
