Bangladesh advanced to the Super Four by becoming the group champions in the U-19 Asia Cup. However, the young Tigresses started this round with a big loss to India. Bangladesh girls lost to India by 8 wickets.
India sent Bangladesh into bat at the Biomass Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (December 19). Bangladesh’s opening pair was broken for 27 runs when they came out to bat. Eva was bowled out for 14 runs off 19 balls by Ayushi Shukla. Another opener, Fahmida Choya, was caught by a bowler and immediately made 10 runs.
Since then, Bangladesh Under-19 lost wickets at regular intervals. In the end, Nishita Akhter Nishi and Habiba Islam saved some respect by scoring 18 runs in the ninth partnership. Although Nishi returned for 10 runs, Habiba was unbeaten on 11 runs off 4 balls. Bangladesh capitalized on 80 runs.
