Reversal News Desk,
Brazilian football’s poster boy Neymar Jr. has spent a large part of his career waiting outside the field. He has now revealed his plans for football. Neymar will play his last World Cup in the 2026 tournament.
In an interview with CNN, Neymar said, “This (2026 World Cup) is going to be my last World Cup. You could say it’s my last chance. I’ll do everything I can to play in this tournament.”
Five-time world champions Brazil are struggling in this year’s World Cup qualifying round. After 12 rounds, the Seleção are in fifth place in the 10-team group. The top six teams will qualify directly for the World Cup. But Brazil is only 5 points ahead of Bolivia, who are in seventh place.
Still, Neymar is confident about his team. He said, “I have a lot of confidence in my team. Also in the boys who are coming up. Of course, we are not supposed to stay where the team is.”
Neymar believes that if everyone works together, it is possible to achieve great things. He said, “If everyone works together, I think it is possible to achieve great things. We have about a year and a half. We have to work during this time to do the right things to go to the World Cup.”
