Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that fireworks and lanterns will not be allowed to be lit and flown on the 31st Night.
He said this in response to a question from reporters after a meeting on law and order on the occasion of Christmas and 31st Night celebrations on Sunday (December 8).
The advisor said that measures have been taken to ensure that there is no inconvenience on the roads on the 31st night.
There is a kind of tension on the border. In response to the question of how alert we are on the border, the Home Affairs Advisor said, we are fully alert on the border. Not only Sylhet, they (BGB) are alert in Benapole and other places as well.
He also said, “You should publish the truth, those who spread false news will be punished. Illegal infiltration at the border will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
