Bangladesh crush India to become champions for the second time in a row

On Sunday (December 08), the youth of Bangladesh won by 59 runs in a brilliant performance. With this victory, Bangladesh kept their crown of excellence in the Youth Asia Cup intact.

Bangladesh’s innings was bundled out for just 198 runs in 49.1 overs after losing the toss and opting to bat. However, this score is enough to prove Bangladesh’s excellent bowling against a strong batting lineup like India.

The Indian team was all out for just 139 runs in 35.2 overs. This is the first time in the Youth Asia Cup that India did not taste victory in the final.

Bangladesh’s pace attack was overwhelming today. Al Fahad bowled Ayush Matre in the second over and gave the first blow to the Indian camp. In the fifth over, left-arm pacer Maruf Mridha dismissed 13-year-old wonder-boy Vaibhav Suryavanshi for 9 runs. Suryavanshi, who batted brilliantly in the semi-final, could not last long today.

Pacer Rizan Hasan also performed brilliantly, dismissing Andre Siddharth. Indian captain Mohammad Aman and KP Karthikeya tried to put up some resistance, but their efforts were thwarted by a pair of blows from pacer Iqbal Hossain Emon.
