Reversal News Desk,

The chances of breaking your nails increase in dry, cold air. Just like changing your skin and hair care routine, you need to take special care of your nails in winter.

Otherwise, you may end up with brittle and dull nails throughout the winter season.

“I often notice that my clients’ hands, especially their cuticles, become drier during the winter,” says London-based nail technician Julia Diogo, in a report published on WhoWhatWeAre.com.

And cold, dry air doesn’t just affect the skin on your face, hair, or hands. It also damages your nails.

So this expert suggests four types of care.

Use cuticle oil
If you want to change the story of your nails, there is only one way to do it – use cuticle oil – suggests Diogo.

Every night, apply a few drops of oil to each cuticle and go to bed. This will keep the area around your nails free from the effects of winter dryness.

And it’s even better if you apply it twice a day, morning and evening.

Avoid gel-based manicure

Gel-based manicures can make your hands even drier during winter. This is why it is better to do a bio-sculpture manicure.

It is beneficial to use a bio-sculpture coat on your nails after a manicure.

Exfoliate your hands

Just as it is important to scrub your body and face to remove dead cells, you also need to exfoliate your hands during winter.

In this case, Diogo recommends using an oil-based exfoliator. This will prevent the skin on your hands from losing moisture.

Carry hand cream

This beautician recommends always keeping hand cream in your bag when you leave the house.

Hand cream should be applied whenever you wash your hands outside or when your nails or hands feel dry.

Creams rich in shea butter, hyaluronic acid, and almond oil help to keep them deeply moisturized.
